Westville Boys’ High hosted their neighbours, Kearsney College, on the weekend for a large football derby, with 28 teams in action. An additional two Westville sides took on Kloof High.
In the U19 age group, Westville, fresh off winning the Big 10 at Hilton, where they didn’t concede a single goal, continued their fine form, defeating Kearsney 3-0. Kearsney, though, matched Westville by winning four of the eight U19 matches.
Westville scored the only goal in the U16A clash. They won three matches in the age group, Kearsney won three, including a spectacular 604 victory in the U16D game, and one was drawn.
The U15A honours were shared. Again, there was next to nothing to separate the schools, with Westville winning three matches in the age group, Kearsney winning two, and two ending in draws.
Westville scored a decisive victory in the U14A match, and they won four matches to two at the U14 level.

GOLF
Kearsney’s junior golf team travelled to Gqeberha for the Grey High Junior Golf Festival, facing 17 teams from around the country. They played well, finishing fourth overall, Kearsney’s best finish yet at the event.
In difficult conditions on the second day, Kearsney’s teams produced the second-best team score at the Wedgewood Country Club.
How difficult were the conditions? Day three was reduced to only nine holes because of high winds and rain.
Affies A won the tournament, with Grey High in second, only seven points clear of Kearsney, and Waterkloof, in third, a mere four points clear of the Botha’s Hill boys.
Westville Boys’ High, meanwhile, hosted their Golf Championships over 36 holes at the Kloof Country Club on Sunday.
The A Division title went to Nick Ullyett, who finished on +6, just one shot clear of Geoffrey Poplett. Grant Cox was third on +11.
Cameron Rudolph led the net scores on +1.
The B Division, contested over a single round, was won by Caide Wolfe, with an 83. Daniel Naidoo was second on 84, followed by Daniel Kruger on 88. Caide Wolfe’s net was a sparkling 65.
