A very busy week of Westville Boys’ High sport enjoyed a big highlight on Sunday as the Griffins lifted the Big 10 trophy at Hilton College, coming out top against the other traditional all-boys schools in a showdown of the 1st football teams.
Westville won in style, recording victories in every game while not conceding a single goal.

There were also title-winning successes for the U15A and U14A football teams, making it a magical weekend for the school’s football programme.
The U14A side (see feature photo), like the 1st XI, sported a clean defensive record, and they won even more emphatically than their senior counterparts.

While the Westville 1st XI was on the path to glory at Hilton, another 21 teams took on St Charles College, with a sprinkling of matches against other opposition also thrown in.
Westville’s 2nd XI drew with Saints, and the Pietermaritzburg school also won the 3rd XI clash, but Westville won the other three open age group matches.
Westville also recorded wins in the U16A and U14A games, while the U15A match finished in a draw.
