It took Northwood only two minutes to reply, with Lian Terblanche crashing over in the left-hand corner.
The visitors edged in front after 27 minutes when Trevor van Volenstee, who had shifted from fullback to flyhalf for the match, made a devastating break, slicing through the Glenwood defence with some spectacular footwork to give his side the lead. He also added the conversion to make it 12-10.

At 18-16 in favour of the visitors, there was nothing in it. Then, with time almost up, Glenwood was struck with not one but two sucker punches. The first came from Tristan Parkinson, who swooped onto a loose pass to run in a try from 55 metres out. Another Van Volenstee conversion made it 25-16 for coach Jacques Deen‘s charges.
Glenwood had one more chance to pull something back, but the Knights struck again from the kick off, with Joshua Thondlana finishing off a sharp blindside counter down the right touchline.
Van Volenstee’s conversion was wide, leaving the final score at 30-16 to Northwood. Van Volenstee’s contribution was 15 points.
