BASKETBALL

St Charles College welcomed Hilton College to the SK Arena on Saturday, eager to make a statement at home after going down at Michaelhouse in a tight contest the previous weekend.

Saints made their vocal home supporters happy by rising to the occasion and scoring an impressive 13-point win. Overall, though, Hilton stacked lightly more wins, taking seven to the four of St Charles.

CRICKET

At the Clifton T20, Hilton College was ousted in an eliminator on Sunday by Westville Boys’ High, which meant they missed out on the semi-finals.

Saints started with a big win over Maritzburg College, but their challenge fell away after a loss to Westville and they missed the playoffs. They finished strongly, though, overpowering St John’s College (Harare).

Rain affected many of Saturday’s matches, but in the matches completed, it was as close as it could be, with St Charles winning four games to Hilton’s three.
