SEVENS RUGBY
Both Northwood and Michaelhouse were in action at Glenwood High on Saturday in the opening round of the Clover High School Sevens Series.
‘House featured only an U17 side, which won the Bowl, while Northwood had two sides in both the U17 and U15 competitions. Their 1st team was eliminated in the semi-finals of the Cup competition by DHS.

FOOTBALL
Who would have thought that 2-2 would be the most common score when Michaelhouse and Northwood met in 25 football matches on the weekend?
Remarkably, six of their matches ended in that result, including the 1st and 2nd teams. Add in the 4th sides, and three of the top four sides played to 2-2 draws.
Michaelhouse claimed tight 1-0 victories in the u16A and u14A games, while Northwood convincingly won the u15A clash 5-2.
Especially lower down the ranks, goals rained down on a richly entertaining day of football in the KZN Midlands. In total, the schools tallied 130 goals, averaging 5.2 goals per game.
Among the interesting scores were Michaelhouse 6-7 Northwood (U16E), Michaelhouse 6-3 Northwood (U16F), Michaelhouse 4-6 Northwood (U15E), and Michaelhouse 3-8 Northwood (U14G).
Overall, Michaelhouse recorded 11 victories, Northwood won eight matches, and there were six draws, all of them 2-2.
