Kearsney College‘s young investor team – Blake Rencken, Ryder Jordan, and James Hollins – excelled in the recently concluded JSE Investment Challenge, which was run over six months, placing second in the country in their category.
The trio of grade 10 learners, who took on the name “Boiler Room“, competed in the Schools Equity Portfolio section of the Challenge.
A massive competition, the JSE Investment Challenge drew 859 schools and almost 18 000 teams, made up of 66 000 participants, who competed between March and September.
The Challenge equips young South African investors with practical market experience through virtual R1-million portfolios.
