Kearsney vs Northwood and Westville
Kearsney‘s enthusiasm for football caught the eye again on Saturday and they sent out a 12th team to play against much higher opposition from Westville.
Predictably, Westville won those games in which the Kearsney sides played up, but Kearsney scored in every one of them, and their 12ths beat the Griffin‘s 8ths!
In the Kearsney vs Northwood matches, Northwood slightly shared the open age group results. It was even at u16 level, although Kearsney won the A and B matches, and it was even in the u15 games, but this time it was Northwood who won the A and B clashes. They also won the u14A match in another tightly contested age group.

Michaelhouse vs Hilton and others
The Michaelhouse 1st XI and u15 sides were in action at the St David’s Marist Inanda Nedbank Challenge Cup, while the u16A and u14A teams participated in the St Stithians Festival. The remainder of the Michaelhouse sides took on Hilton College. It was a busy and fruitful weekend for the Balgowan boys.

Clifton at the St David’s Marist Inanda Nebank Challenge Cup
Clifton made a shaky start to the St David’s Marist Inanda Nedbank Challenge Cup, but they showed up far better as the tournament wore on, completing it with a morale-boosting win over St Peter’s College.
The school’s other teams weren’t in action on the weekend, with many boys in pre-season water polo action. Scores weren’t kept, but Clifton teams went unbeaten, so watch out when the round ball is added to water shortly!

Westville Boys’ High vs Maritzburg College
Two of the country’s best strikers were on the mark as Dayyan Fudu struck twice early for Westville against Maritzburg College before Mazithi Qasha netted two of his own as the schools shared a 2-2 draw.
Westville also picked up wins in the u15A and u14A matches.

Hilton’s football appears to be in a healthy state based on the competitiveness of the school’s sides in Johannesburg on the weekend. The u15A side showed up best, recording four wins, a draw, and only one loss.
