The KZN Coastal Indoor Hockey Leagues head into their playoffs in week five as the competition reaches its business end.
In week four, Northwood made a loud and clear statement in the U18A League, recording three convincing victories. One of those was over Kearsney, which was noteworthy because Kearsney upset Durban High School (DHS) by the odd goal in nine, with Dylan Forbes scoring four of their five goals, and they also beat Westville.
Beaten by Kearsney, DHS picked up convincing wins over Ashton Ballito and Westville, while Clifton, one of the season’s top performers, had the week off.
In the U16A League, Northwood also impressed. Their A side played twice, against DHS B and Westville B, and won convincingly, while Northwood B shocked DHS, winning 4-3.
The top side thus far, however, has been Westville, who remained unbeaten after convincing victories over Northwood B and Kearsney.
DHS romped to successive clear-cut victories over Northwood and Kearsney in the U14A League, while Westville was held to a 5-5 draw by Glenwood after cruising to a comfortable win over Northwood B.
