Fresh off a superb showing in the South African Mathematics Olympiad in which they finished third in South Africa and first in KwaZulu-Natal for a sixth year in succession, Kearsney College’s mathematicians once again grabbed the spotlight with an exceptional showing in the Wits Maths Challenge.

Despite the Challenge having exhibited significant growth in 2025, the school’s senior team, represented by boys from grades eight to 10, placed an outstanding eighth overall in Africa.

The Botha’s Hill boys who made the final were Benjamin Hancock, George Sykes, Matthew Behrens, Mukona Marageni, and Shay Bagaria.

In the junior category, for grades eight and nine, Aedan Dalton, Dru Mills, Khaya Gxoyiya, and Thomas Schulze qualified as finalists.

A rock solid performer, Thomas Aylward will lead KZN's challenge in the u19 age group at the SWPSA IPT in Johannesburg.
