RUGBY SEVENS
Northwood came about as one can come to winning the national High School Sevens Series title, but they were tripped at the final hurdle in Potchefstroom, going down by a single point to Westville in the final after leading 14-0 at halftime.
Before that, they had won six matches on the trot, impressing with their pace, skill, and work at the rucks.
There was plenty of which to be proud.

FOOTBALL
In mid-week, Northwood claimed a 2-1 win over Maritzburg College at Durban North College to book a place in the final of the Mancosa Cowie Cup, KwaZulu-Natal’s premier knockout football competition.
The Knights’ incredible turnaround, from almost being relegated from the Coastal A-League at the end of the second term to a powerhouse team racking up one win after another has been nothing short of inspirational.
They’ll face Carter High for the title, after Carter edged out Alexandra High 5-4 in a penalty shootout in the other semi-final. That game ended goalless in regulation time.
The final takes place at Northwood at 13:00 on Wednesday. With cold and rain expected, it’s going to have an English feel to it.

On the Theobald Oval, the Northwood 1st XI may have gone down by nine wickets to Durban High School (DHS), but the Knights put up a tremendous fight, with School getting home with only 10 balls to spare, thanks mostly to a sensational century from Josh van Biljon.
Overall, Northwood enjoyed a good day, winning eight matches to the three won by DHS.
