KEARSNEY COLLEGE VS HILTON COLLEGE

If it’s the health and popularity of football in KZN that you want to measure, it’s in fantastic fettle. Look no further than Kearsney College, who had an astonishing 31 teams in action over the weekend, including 12 in the open age group, mostly against Hilton College.

In the 1st XI match, the visitors went ahead from the penalty spot late in the first half, but Kearsney responded well and heaped pressure on Hilton. They were rewarded when Haydon Dunsdon struck to level the scores.

Grade 9 learner Kwezi Hlela thought he had given Kearsney the lead in the second half, but an offsides flag meant the teams had to settle for a draw.
