The Maritzburg College 1st XI was in action at the Jody Momplé FA Cup on the weekend, where a young side performed well, reaching the semifinals, where the eventual champion, Carter High, brought College’s challenge to an end.
College’s record included wins over Grace College, Riverwood, and Alexandra High.
Michaelhouse, who lifted the title in both 2024 and 2025, suffered a key loss to Umvuzo on Saturday, going down 3-4, which knocked them out of the Cup competition.
They comfortably beat St Nicholas, but Treverton College ousted ‘House in the quarterfinals of the Plate Competition after a penalty shootout (feature photo).
