It was a jam-packed weekend of sport for Maritzburg College, who took on Westville Boys’ High and Durban High School (DHS) in cricket, basketball, and water polo. At the same time, the College 1st and u15A water polo teams were in action at the Clifton Water Polo Tournament and Ian Melliar Cup respectively.
In a triangular 100-ball event, played at Westville, College, DHS, and Westville shared one win each, with College comfortably downing Westville, the winners of five successive KZN Coastal W100 titles.
Across all the games they contested, College and Westville came out with a share of the spoils, while the Red, Black, and White enjoyed the better of their clashes with DHS.

When they’re on their game, the College first team delivers a high-intensity defence and a fast-paced offence. Those qualities spurred them to victory on the weekend.
